Due to the resettlement of the younger generation, the up to date population of Tanjung Sepat has been reduced from approximately 23,000 to 10,000 and 6,000 of them are elderly. 90% of the residents in Tanjung Sepat are Chinese while the 3 major family names are Lim, Chia and Tan.
